Broadband infrastructure company Netomnia is rolling out its high speed network in Wrexham as part of an up to £12 million investment in the area.
Its FTTP (fibre-to-the-premises) broadband infrastructure will reach around 40,000 premises in Wrexham and the surrounding area.
The company is partnering with business-to-business communications firm G-Force Communications to rollout its broadband infrastructure into premises.

Founded in 2019, Netomnia builds, owns, operates and maintains the fibre network infrastructure and partners with internet service providers (ISPs) to then provide a broadband service to customers.
Its network supports symmetrical (equal upload and download speeds) multi-gigabit services up to 10 Gbps (10,000 Mbps) using XGS-PON technology.
Wrexham is the third area in Wales to receive investment in broadband infrastructure from Netomnia.
The company announced its first move into Wales at the end of last year with a rollout of its fibre network to 55,000 premises in Bridgend as part of a separate £16.7m investment.
In February, Netomnia announced it would be building its multi-gigabit network to around 29,000 premises in Barry.
Investing rapidly in building a multi-gigabit network for homes and businesses, Netomnia is aiming to become the third national full-fibre network operator in the UK.
The company has said it wants to “level the digital playing field” by supplying fast and affordable broadband to underserved towns and cities in the UK.
Along with internet service provider YouFibre, Netomnia has secured £418 million in funding since 2020 to support its rollout strategy and aims to reach one million premises by 2023.
It will soon be starting its first rollout in Northern Ireland, in a bid to become the first alt-net with network present in all four countries in the UK.
An historical market town, Wrexham will receive city status on 1 September 2022 as part of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee making it the seventh major city in Wales.
Netomnia said this demonstrates the increased popularity of the area for businesses, residents, and tourists with Wrexham serving as a centre for manufacturing, retail, education and administration on the Welsh border.
Chief executive Jeremy Chelot said: "We are passionate about providing access to fast and reliable broadband to attract further talent to the local area, enable businesses to work more effectively and provide more ways for people to communicate with ease."
He added: "Marking our third location in Wales, we know that our network will provide real benefits to the area for generations to come and we look forward to continuing our expansion across the UK.”
