Wrexham executive director Humphrey Ker has revealed the club's Hollywood owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds are "always in the dressing room", after it was revealed Chelsea's Todd Boehly did similar to slam his team last weekend.
Chelsea have endured a tough first season under the guidance of Boehly, with the Blues currently sat 11th in the Premier League. The American owner looked to change things up earlier this month after bringing in former manager and club legend Frank Lampard to replace Graham Potter.
Things have not got any better for the two-time Champions League winners though, with Lampard losing all three of his opening games since returning to Stamford Bridge.
The dismal run was extended last Saturday, after Chelsea surrendered a 1-0 lead to lose 2-1 to Brighton in front of a disgruntled home crowd. In the wake of the defeat it has since been revealed that owner Boehly took things into his own hands, heading into the dressing room and labelling his players 'embarrassing' in a post-match rant.
The American has faced plenty of backlash for his inner circle dressing down. Wrexham chief Ker though is seemingly a fan of ownership mingling inside the dressing room with their players and coaching staff, claiming both McElhenney and Reynolds are often in the thick of it.
Speaking to TalkSport, the executive director said: "We like to do things a bit differently at Wrexham. I heard about Todd Boehly going into the Chelsea dressing room, and the one thing we’ve tried to really foster at Wrexham is the relationship between the players, the management and the ownership – that we’re all in this together pulling in the same direction.
“Rob and Ryan are never out of the dressing room, to be honest, when they are over (from the United States). They wait until after the game, but they still have this giddy schoolboy thing that they can’t believe that they are allowed in there.

“I know that kind of connection is one they are really proud of and we are really proud of. We hope it makes it a fun place to come and play and watch and generally a fun place to work, which has got to be a good thing.” Wrexham have been one of the big stories of the 2022/23 season, with the actors looking to make a Hollywood story line of their own, by sending the Welsh team back to the football league.
Wrexham currently sit top of the National League, one point clear of second place Notts County with a game in hand. The drama of the title race continued earlier this month, when Wrexham defeated the Magpies 3-2, thanks to a 97th minute penalty save by veteran keeper Ben Foster.
Whilst the title race rollercoaster has been an entertaining watch for the neutral, Ker was hoping for something a lot less dramatic. "Our hope for this year was that it was going to be a lot less dramatic than it has turned out to be," he added.
"Last year we got knocked out of the play-off semi-final and I remember after that thinking ‘OK, it’s fine. Next year we’ll strengthen in the summer, take this league by storm, and we’ll have it all wrapped up by January’. But Notts County have been unbelievably good and made it far too dramatic for us."
