Police Scotland have issued an appeal for information after a man was seen in possession of a knife on Caledonian Road in Dalry yesterday afternoon.
Police were notified of the incident at around 3.30pm on Saturday February 26 but they were unable to trace the male after carrying out an extensive search in the area.

As a result officers are asking for the public to come forward with any information they may hold on the incident.
The person carrying the knife is described as being around six foot with a stocky building and was wearing a hat, black puffer style jacket with a fur trim and black trousers.
Local area commander, chief inspector Mark Hamilton from Corstorphine Police Station said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who recognises the description of this man, or anyone who was in the area at the time, or has dash cam footage or CCTV images, to get in touch via 101 quoting reference 2192 of 26 February 2022.”
A statement from Police Scotland read: “Officers are appealing for witnesses after a man was seen in possession of a knife, on Caledonian Road in Dalry, Edinburgh.
“A call was received around 3.30pm, on Saturday 26 February 2022. Officers attended and carried out a full search of the area, but there was no trace of the male.
“He’s described as black, around 6ft with a stocky build.
“He was wearing a hat, black puffer style jacket with fur trim, and black trousers.”
An anonymous post to the Gorgie/Dalry Facebook group by an alleged witness states that a group of three youths, one brandishing a knife, were confronting two young black males who were wearing colourful tracksuits.
They said: “I witnessed yesterday on the corner of Dalry Road and Caledonian Road. I wish to remain anonymous as I contacted the Police but want to make locals aware.
“Three youths were fighting at this spot around 3pm yesterday and I witnessed one (dressed in black joggers, black trainers, black padded hooded jacket and black face covering, possibly a young white male) attempt to assault the others (two young black men with colourful tracksuits/clothes on) with a kitchen knife.
“They dispersed when I called the Police, however I saw the assailant group up with two other youths dressed fully in black a few minutes later, searching for the young black men.”
