World’s largest battery-electric plane completes 27 minute test flight for just £3.70

  • Heart Aerospace has successfully completed a test flight of the world's largest battery-electric plane, named the X1.
  • The 30-seat aircraft flew for 27 minutes using just £3.70 worth of electricity at Plattsburgh International Airport in New York .
  • Weighing 25,000 lbs, the plane reached an altitude of 1,100 feet with a single pilot on board and no passengers.
  • Heart Aerospace founder and CEO Anders Forslund stated that the flight demonstrated electric aviation at the scale of a commercial airliner.
