Dublin's Trinity College has been ranked in the world's top 100 universities for the first time in five years.
The university is now ranked 98th in the QS world university rankings, up from 101st place last year.
University College Dublin is the only other Irish college to make the top 200, ranking 181st and falling eight places on last year's rank of 173.

Dublin City University has improved its rank by 19 places, moving from 490th to 471st position.
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology retained its spot as the world's highest ranking institution, while the University of Oxford lost its second place spot to the University of Cambridge.
The QS world university rankings are judged on six factors: Academic and employer reputation, citations per faculty, the faculty to student ratio, employment outcomes, international faculty ratio and international students ratio.
