Hamas has taken hostages from all nationalities in the event of the attack on Israel over the weekend.
Operation al-Aqsa Flood, Hamas code name mission, was carried out over the weekend by Hamas from the Gaza Strip. The Month of October marks the fiftieth anniversary of the 1973 Yom Kippur War.
Other country embassies were informed of their citizen either missing or killing in the attack by Hamas.
France has reported 20 French nationals were missing as 8 of them were killed.
It is also believed that Hamas had also kidnapped Americans. U.S. President Joe Biden has stated that the United States backs Israel during the state of attacks.
At least 14 Americans were killed during the attack. Biden had delivered a statement on Wednesday condemning the attacks on Israel.
“We are seeing the immense scale and reach of this tragedy,” said Biden in a press conference statement. “In this moment of heartbreak, the American people stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Israelis. We remember the pain of being attacked by terrorists at home, and Americans across the country stand united against these evil acts that have once more claimed innocent American lives. It is an outrage.”
Biden confirmed that American hostages were being held by Hamas. At least 20 American hostages were taken during the attack.
The White House is working Israel to combat Hamas to rescue the hostages. Members of the Biden Administration are in contact with families who are in the region.
France has planned to repatriate their citizens from Israel of those who have been found and identified. Air France has set up operations on Thursday to have their citizens back in their home country safely.
Italy announced that 10 of its citizens including a one-year-old baby were taken hostage in the region.
The Dutch government will be allowing its citizens in Israel to board a defense plan on Wednesday back to The Netherlands. Talks are currently ongoing with KLM to ship additional Dutch citizens on Thursday.
The Hong Kong government has stated that 16 of its citizens have evacuated from Israel at the time of the attack.
Foreign nationals in Israel have reportedly been evacuated, kidnapped, or killed as the world government urge their citizens do not go into the region in the time of war.
