England can boast the impressive stat of having the most expensive squad at the 2022 World Cup, when compared to the other 32 nations involved.
Valued at a staggering £1.1bn according to new research carried out by Sporting Pedia, Gareth Southgate's squad boasts the names of Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden at present, who are estimated to be worth close to the region of £100million each by TransferMarkt. Harry Maguire of course moved from Manchester United from Leicester City for £80million back in 2019, whilst starlets including Jack Grealish and Kyle Walker have both moved for hefty fees in the past.
Coming in ahead of the likes of Brazil, Argentina and France, much is often made of the premium price clubs in the Premier League seemingly have to pay to acquire such homegrown British talent. Jack Grealish moved for a staggering £100million from Aston Villa to Manchester City in August 2021.
