CHENNAI: Six-year-old Mikhail, donning an oversized Rashid Khan jersey, soaked in the sweat of the superstar himself, walked into the press-conference room on Monday night. The little Afghan boy, who lives in Dubai, had flown down to Chennai just to see his heroes play and he will be going back with a lifetime of memories.
And it's not just Mikhail. What Rashid & Co. have done over the last one week beating World Champions England and mighty neighbours Pakistan, will instill a sense of belief in thousands of Afghan boys and girls across the world that nothing is impossible. "If such performances inspire Afghan kids to pick up the bat and the ball, that will be our biggest victory," coach Jonathan Trott said, looking at the larger picture, after Afghanistan pulled off a stunning eight-wicket win against Pakistan at Chepauk on Monday night.
