World Cup 2026: Which teams are still left in the tournament?

World Cup

The 2026 World Cup is the first edition to feature 48 nations, organised into 12 groups of four teams.
The knockout stages comprise the 12 group winners, 12 runners-up, and the eight best third-placed teams.
On Tuesday, Argentina came from two goals down to beat Egypt 3-2 in a thrilling contest, as the defending champions kept their World Cup hopes alive.
Meanwhile, Switzerland defeated Colombia 4-3 in a penalty shootout after a goalless draw, advancing to the World Cup quarter-finals for the first time since 1954.
As such, the teams still in the tournament are as follows: Morocco , France , Norway , England , Spain , Belgium , Argentina and Switzerland .
