The knockout stages of the World Cup are underway after a group stage full of shocks. We now have a clear view of the tournament tree as each nation plans their route to the final.
48 matches across all eight groups in little under two action-packed weeks saw plenty of history made.
Qatar became the first ever hosts to bow out without victory, Japan shocked the globe to top Group E ahead of Spain, sending Germany home in the process, and Stéfanie Frappart led the first ever all-female team of referees in a match at the tournament’s finals.

England have also had a solid group stage campaign, winning twice and drawing once with two clean sheets along the way. Now though, attention quickly shifts to the final rounds of fixtures en route to the final.
