Gareth Bale is a red-hot 7/4 favourite to end the 2022 World Cup as top scorer for Wales according to Betfred. The Welsh captain is the country's all-time top scorer with 40 goals from 108 appearances and the bookmakers think that it's extremely likely that the now Los Angeles FC man tops Wales' scorer lists.
However, although Bale scored five goals in the World Cup qualifying campaign, his backers had their fingers burned at Euro 2020, with the captain not featuring among the trio of Aaron Ramsey, Connor Roberts and Kieffer Moore, who notched once apiece.
So although Bale is on free-kicks and penalties, there might be some value in opposing him in the top Wales scorer market, not least because The Dragons are unlikely to go goal crazy in Qatar.
