The 2022 FIFA World Cup is almost upon as and many of football's biggest stars will be looking to secure the Golden Boot to their personal achievements. Players with an eye for goal will look to secure the prize over the next month with England's Harry Kane entering the winter's competition as holder and current favourite of the accolade with Betfred.
The England captain secured the award in the 2018 World Cup in Russia and will no doubt want to repeat that individual success again in Qatar too. He will face some serious competition as some of football's elite prepare to make an impact on the biggest stage in world football.
Idols such as Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema have all been tipped to make their mark this winter for their respective countries and we have not even considered the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez or Robert Lewandowski either.
We could well see a dark horse or two in the ranks as well which could be a bookies dream as some of these players are priced pretty well going into the competition.

The main contenders
Harry Kane - 7/1
The Golden Boot holder is just two goals away from equalling Wayne Rooney's scoring record for England and with the current captain's goalscoring form on international duty is anything to go by, we could well see that happen in the group stages. The Spurs striker has scored 51 goals in 75 international caps including six in the 2018 World Cup.
Kylian Mbappe - 8/1
The main stage is something not unfamiliar for 23-year-old Mbappe as the PSG man became the second-youngest player ever to score in a World Cup final - behind Pele. The former AS Monaco player secured Les Bleus World Cup win against Croatia over in Russia in 2018 and we are yet to see the Frenchman's peak. Four goals in his last outing got a lot of people talking about how far the youngster can go and has showed no signs of stopping four years later.
Karim Benzema - 10/1
The Ballon d'Or holder may want to add to his achievements and secure a personal accolade on the international stage himself after a long exile from the French national team. The 34-year-old had a rough start to the season with Real Madrid due to injuries but last year's impressive 44 goals in 46 appearances in all competitions for Los Blancos is not something to dismiss quickly.

Neymar - 12/1
Mbappe's teammate Neymar has been tipped widely by many to guide the Seleção to glory for the first time since 2002 as the former Santos winger looks to secure football's top prize. Despite picking up the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, Neymar is yet to taste any more success on the international stage but he will be hoping his good work with Tite so far will translate well in Qatar.
Lionel Messi - 12/1
This is more than likely to be his last ever chance to win the World Cup Trophy for Argentina and the nation will need Messi to be in fantastic form on the pitch. Like Brazil, Argentina finished the qualification stage unbeaten with the PSG man picking up seven goals in the process.
