Mason Mount looks set to become a Manchester United player after a £60million fee was agreed with Chelsea.
United have been in hot pursuit of Mount for several weeks, seeing three bids worth up to £55million knocked back by those in charge at Stamford Bridge. Fresh talks continued earlier this week and look to have made headway, and the Manchester Evening News understands a fee has now been agreed.
The initial fee for Mount will be £55million, with the final £5million subject to appearances and success during his time with the club. United sources have insisted they would be happy to eventually pay £60million, given it will mean Mount has been a major success.
Personal terms for the 24-year-old had been agreed in May, and both club and player can now reconvene to finalise those terms and organise a medical. Mount looks set to become United's first major signing of the summer, with Erik ten Hag landing his top target in a priority position.

After long and protracted negotiations, United fans were evidently happy to see the deal finally be agreed, with many taking to social media to share their reaction.
Once the Mount deal is wrapped up, United will turn attention to addressing their two other transfer concerns. Ten Hag is keen to add a world-class No.9 to his squad, while the likely release of David De Gea on Friday means a new goalkeeper is needed.
