A housing group has broken ground on its largest housing scheme in Wigan - which will bring 155 more affordable homes to the area. Hallbrook Gardens in Standish is a £30 million investment creating of genuinely affordable housing options for the borough.
Working with Homes England as landowner, Wigan Council’s Housing and Planning teams and Seddon, as developer contractor, Torus has unlocked a key brownfield site which has been vacant for more than 10 years. According to Wigan Council’s housing strategy there is a continuing shortfall in affordable homes in the borough.
Schemes like this are critical at this time for providing homes that people in the borough can truly afford.
