Concern is mounting in Haiti and in the United States ahead of the planned end of Temporary Protected Status for Haitians on 27 July, which could leave nearly 350,000 people at risk of deportation from the US.

President Donald Trump's government determined last year that Haiti no longer met the necessary conditions for the special protection, which temporarily grants the right to live and work in the US for people who come from countries where conflict, disaster or other conditions make it unsafe to return.
