Wonder Woman actress Lynda Carter 's father has died at the age of 99, a year after her husband passed away.
The 70-year-old took to her Instagram page to share the heartbreaking news and pay tribute to the war veteran.
"My father, Colby Carter, passed away last night at the age of 99. He was a deeply adventurous man who loved to travel, and he gave me my appreciation of this beautiful country," she wrote.
"As a World War II veteran, he truly gave meaning to the term “Greatest Generation.” My dad was a steadying force early in my career, making sure I saved up early on so I could move to LA and pursue acting.
"I loved to see him in the audience at my concerts, and I know he was one of my biggest cheerleaders."
Lynda concluded the post: "Later in life, it was the most special gift to watch him be a loving grandfather to my children. Dad, I will love and miss you forever."
She also shared several throwback pictures of her father. One of the snaps showed her (as a little toddler) being held up by Colby.
Another showed her with her hands placed on his shoulders as they beamed for the camera at a glamorous event.
The first black-and-white snap was a picture of Colby in his younger years posing at the beach.
Friends and fans took to the comment section to pay their condolences.
" So sorry for your loss, Lynda. Thank you for sharing such beautiful words with us. Sending all the love possible your way!" one user said.
Another commented: " My deepest condolences to you and your family Lynda. May your father rest in peace, so deeply sorry."
