Paul Merson believes Liverpool will beat Real Madrid in the Champions League final as they ‘will have too much for them’.
The Reds face Los Blancos in Paris on Saturday, May 28 in a repeat of the 2018 final in Kiev. They will be hoping to avenge that 3-1 defeat from four years ago as they go in search of their seventh European Cup.
Liverpool are in the midst of a hectic end to the campaign as they continue to compete on all fronts. And before they take on Madrid, the Carabao Cup winners face Chelsea in the FA Cup final this Saturday and still have three games to overhaul Premier League leaders Manchester City in the title race.

But, looking ahead to the Champions League final, Merson has backed Liverpool to defeat Madrid at the Stade de France and gave his thoughts on their season as a whole.
“Liverpool will beat Real Madrid - they won’t mess about,” he told his Daily Star column. “They will have too much for them in the Champions League final. Winning the Champions League alone would be a brilliant feat for Liverpool. Winning three cups would be a phenomenal achievement.
“But to win four trophies would be absolutely sensational. Especially when you consider they don’t have the biggest squad.”
Liverpool return to action on Tuesday night when they travel to Aston Villa, where they will hope to bounce back from Saturday's disappointing draw to Tottenham.
