Women's T20 World Cup, Semi-Final 1: Australia opt to bat against India, Harmanpreet Kaur fit to play

NEW DELHI: Australia skipper Meg Lanning won the toss and opted to bat first against the India in the Women's T20 World Cup semi-final in Cape Town on Thursday.

Already missing the services of pacer Pooja Vastrakar, India heaved a sigh of relief as Harmanpreet Kaur came out for the toss. The India skipper had yesterday made a visit to the hospital due to high fever.

"I had a fever, but now I'm fine," said Harmanpreet at the toss.

India made three changes to the side with Sneh Rana coming in place of an unwell Vastrakar.

Radha Yadav has been included in place of Rajeshwari Gayakwad while Yastika Bhatia replaced Devika Vaidya.

Australia made a couple of changes to their side as well with Jess Jonassen coming in place for of Alana King and a fully-fit charismatic batter Alyssa Healy back for Annabel Sutherland.

"It looks a good wicket," said Australian captain Lanning.

"We want to get out there and have some fun."

India Women: Shafali Verma, Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Richa Ghosh (w), Deepti Sharma, Yastika Bhatia, Sneh Rana, Shikha Pandey, Radha Yadav and Renuka Thakur Singh.
