The women’s sport boom continues unabated with an exciting 2023 jam-packed with some of sport’s highest profile events – with women set to be very much at the forefront.
As television and in-stadium audiences continue to swell significantly, there are plenty of problems to contemplate. As demand grows, can women’s sport resist the temptation of over-expansion, recognising the problems of conflict and congestion that cause issues in so many men’s sport? Indeed, women’s sport should not be afraid to forge new ground and do things differently – but the financial strength of the men’s game means that associating with known, established quantities may be sensible.
