In a thrilling final day, it was New Zealand’s Lydia Ko who came out on top, as she birdied the last to clinch gold in style and earn a place in the LPGA Hall of Fame.
The New Zealander had started in a share of the lead with Morgane Metraux at nine-under-par, but with the Swiss player struggling, it was Ko who came through to pick up another medal at the Olympics.
Amongst the chasing pack were the likes of American pair Nelly Korda and Rose Zhang, but it was Germany's Esther Henseleit who stormed through the field on the final day, as she carded a six-under 66 to secure silver, one shot ahead of China's Xiyu Lin, whose three-under round earned bronze.
Halfway through the back nine, it seemed that Ko was destined for the victory, as she needed just one point to secure LPGA Hall of Fame honors. At one stage, she had a five-shot lead, but it was cut back after a rare wobble on the 13th when she went in the water and made a double bogey.
Crucially, she played the final five holes in one-under to record a one-under final round and a 10-under total, which was good enough for a two stroke victory over the stacked leaderboard.
“Lydia’s qualification into the LPGA Hall of Fame isn't just a milestone in her extraordinary career; it's a testament to her generational talent, having built an unmatched resume of success at such a young age,” said LPGA Commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan.
“Beyond her unprecedented achievements on the golf course, Lydia has inspired so many through her perseverance, kindness, generosity, and commitment to leaving the game better than she found it. She is a role model to us all and particularly to young girls, to whom she has shown what a true champion is, in sport and in life. Cementing her place in the Hall of Fame by winning the gold medal here in Paris is iconic, and it is something we will all remember for a long time.”

Norway's Celine Borge is the first woman to two-under after birdies at the 1st and 3rd.
The 1st is proving difficult this morning with many players hitting driver-wood or long-iron into the green. A number of players have found the water with their first or second shots.
BRILLIANT BIRDIE FROM TAVATANAKIT AT THE 1ST
The big-hitting Thai uses her length to her advantage on the 1st after bombing a drive to leave a mid-iron into the green.
She got it to within 15ft and rolled in the birdie putt.

KORDA 3-PUTT
Nelly 3-putts the par-5 3rd for par so fails to get the shot back that she dropped on the 1st.
Alessandra Fanali has just made a triple on the 1st, which is continuing to pose problems for the players.
Anne van Dam has just holed a huge birdie putt on the 6th to get to -1, while Manon de Roey has rolled in a long birdie putt at 7 to also get under-par.
POOR START FROM STEPHANIE MEADOW
The Irishwoman has struggled so far this morning at Le Golf National with four bogeys in her opening seven holes.
SIX PLAYERS UNDER PAR CURRENTLY
The story from this morning has to be the 1st hole. The women are playing it at the same length as the men last week and it's proving a beast.
A number of players have found the water off the tee left while plenty have also found the water on their second shots too.
NELLY KORDA UPDATE
The World No.1 has made two bogeys in five holes, including three-putts at the 1st and 3rd.
She's just parred the 5th so will hope to find some rhythm and get herself back to level par as soon as possible. She has par-5s coming up at 9, 14 and 18 so should be able to give herself plenty of chances.
CELINE BORGE STILL LEADING THE WAY
The Norwegian has made two birdies and four pars thru six holes to maintain the lead at two-under.
Borge has one victory on the Epson Tour (LPGA feeder) and currently ranks 187th in the world. She was T7th at the recent Dana Open on the LPGA Tour so is clearly showing good form this summer.
CHARLEY HULL AMONG BIG NAMES STRUGGLING
The Englishwoman has dropped to three-over after dropping another shot at the 6th. She doubled the 1st after finding water off the tee and then three-putting.
Nelly Korda remains at +2 while Brooke Henderson has dropped four strokes in her first five holes.

PERRINE DELACOUR (+7/79) ON HITTING THE OPENING TEE SHOT IN HER HOME GAMES:
"I got lucky to be able to hit the first tee shot at the Olympics in my home country. It was definitely a lot of emotion, and as you can see on the scorecard, I kind of left a lot of energy for the rest of the round," she said.
"Well, not crying on the first tee, that was hard. I mean, I'm just trying to do my best. I knew it was going to be a lot of emotion. But it was hard for sure when you start hearing La Marseillaise on the first tee. It was hard to stay patient and stay in the present because you really realise you're playing from France and in front of your crowd."

Ruoning Yin manages to hole an 8-footer on the 18th for par after finding the water.

"I think the golf course plays very challenging off the tee because you have curved fairways and it's really easy to run through them. You've got to be very specific off the line, off the tee. Birdied the last three holes. Gives that you momentum and that faith of kind of keep fighting for whatever it is, for a medal, for a good finish, for your country until the end."

"Yeah, it played difficult and I would say it's to be expected. Pretty satisfied with how I was able to manoeuvre myself around the golf course. Hit some errant shots but you know, that's to be expected when you're in difficult conditions."
HANNAH GREEN SHOOTS 77
The Australian has been arguably the second-best player in the women's game this year, currently ranking 6th in the world.
But she struggled today with a five-over 77 and will need to turn it around over the next 3 days if she wants to challenge for the medals.
OTHER BIG NAMES STRUGGLING
US Women's Open champion Yuka Saso is four-over after 12 while Leona Maguire is four-over after 8.
Brooke Henderson is also four-over, as is Patty Tavatanakit, while Minjee Lee has just missed a short par putt at 12 to fall to three-over.

The Canadian holes a monster eagle putt from the back of the 18th green to get in at two-over-par.

I've just seen the Irishwoman made a triple-bogey on the par-5 9th. Ouch.

Xiyu 'Janet' Lin, who is one of the best players yet to win on the LPGA Tour, has got in at one-under-par after birdies at three of her final five holes.

DIKSHA DAGAR DROPS A SHOT
The Indian missed the green in two on the 17th and her chip shot came up short of the green and led to her first bogey of the day.

It does not look like Finland will be winning a medal in the golf this year.
Ursula Wilkstrom is +10 and Noora Komulainen is currently +11, with the pair in 59th and 60th position out of the field of 60.
CHARLEY HULL AFTER HER 81
The Englishwoman says she is rusty after hurting her shoulder from falling over after a shower recently. It led to her withdrawing from the Aramco Team Series.
"I think it's a very scorable golf course. I just didn't hit it in the right positions, and when I hit good shots today I just missed clubs slightly, and that gets me into bad positions. Hopefully I've got the rust off me and I'm looking forward to hopefully shooting freaking 9-under tomorrow."

The Englishwoman has fallen to four-over after bogeying 13, where she found water off the tee.

The home favorite stretches her lead at the top back to two strokes after a birdie at the par-5 14th. She holed from 8ft up the hill, just after Lilia Vu missed her own birdie chance from around 12ft.
BUHAI UP TO T2ND
The 2022 AIG Women's Open champion makes her fourth birdie of the day at the 13th to move up to three-under.
She has the par-5 14th up next, where she'll be hoping to pick off another.
DIKSHA DAGAR IN WITH A 71 (-1)
The Indian finishes bogey-bogey to post a one-under-par 71.
She'll be disappointed with that but she's right in the mix after 18 holes.
NELLY KORDA ON HER 72:
"Won't be very positive on the front nine but on the back nine I started hitting better putts. I actually didn't hit it that bad. I just made four 3-putts. The greens were just so like completely different, just from the practise green to the golf course, they were a lot slower. I feel like they were almost a foot slower from what I felt personally. It was very much a pace thing. I actually came up really short on No. 1. Short on No. 2. Very short on No. 3. So it was just a pace thing."
COULD LE GOLF NATIONAL HOST THE SOLHEIM CUP?
Nelly Korda hopes so.
"It's amazing. We were actually talking that it would be so much fun to have a Solheim Cup out here. I know the Ryder Cup was amazing, but the atmosphere was insane. I can't even imagine what it is like within Celine's group. I've heard a couple of the roars, and it's been such an amazing experience so far," she said.
NELLY KORDA ON 'MIND-BLOWING' CROWDS
"Yeah, I saw the crowds for the men, and to see the similar crowds for the women is just kind of for me mind-blowing. I wasn't sure what to expect walking on to that first tee, and obviously my first view was the tee. Then I kind of looked out to the green and I just saw like four people deep and I told Jason, I was like, oh my gosh, this is absolutely amazing. Like I did not expect this many people to come out and support everyone out here."

The World No.2 has hit a nasty snap hook down the final hole and it's found the water.

The Englishwoman finds her first birdie since the 3rd hole at the 16th to get back to three-over.

The two-time Major champion birdies four of her final five holes to get in the house under-par with a 71 (-1).
AGONY FOR PAULA RETO
South Africa's Paula Reto was two-over after 17 holes but finishes with a 9 to post a 78 (+6).

BOUTIER WITH A BIRDIE CHANCE ON 18
The Frenchwoman played the 18th conservatively and has around 20ft down the hill to get to eight-under.

Leader Morgane Metraux has just bogeyed the fifth to see her lead cut to two at eight-under. Her par putt was desperately close to going in though, but it fell short by a dimple.
YIN SAVES PAR
Morgane Metraux's dropped shot put the pressure on China's Ruoning Yin, who's just two behind the Swiss star. She had a tricky putt to make par on the fifth, and managed it. It's getting tight at the top!
BIG CROWDS AT LE GOLF NATIONAL
Nelly Korda commented earlier in the week that she was impressed with atmosphere and crowds at the tournament, even suggesting Le Golf National could be a future Solheim Cup venue. They're out in force on day three too as gold well and truly establishes itself as an Olympics event.

ZHANG ON A ROLL!
Rose Zhang is well in the hunt following her third birdie of the day on the eighth. The US star is now on five-under, just three off the lead after holing her long putt. What a contest we have now, with five players within three of the lead.
LYDIA KO MOVES TO SOLO SECOND!
The New Zealander only needs one more win to reach the LPGA Tour Hall of Fame, and she's eyeing the possibility this week. The former World No.1 has just birdied the sixth the move to seven-under, just two off leader Morgane Metraux.
AGONY FOR YIN
While Lydia Ko is making her charge up the leaderboard, it's going the other way for Ruoning Yin. She has just made her second bogey of the day at the sixth to move back to five-under, three off the lead.
MOMENTUM FOR NELLY
Nelly Korda is dragging herself firmly into contention here. She's just made her third birdie in four on the ninth to move to three-under. She's only six off the lead now, and those ahead of her will be nervously looking over their shoulders with the World No.1 on a roll.

Celine Boutier stormed into a first-round lead, but it's been more of a struggle since. She's had several looks for birdie in her third round, and just had another on the ninth, but once again her putter just let her down and she stays at three-under, five off the lead.

HORROR AT THE 13th FOR BOUTIER!
Just when it looked like Celine Boutier, who had the lead after the first round, was dragging herself back into contention with successive birdies, all that good work - and more - has been undone by a triple bogey seven on the par 4 13th. She's now back to two-under, six off the lead.

Rose Zhang has been impressive all day, and it got even better for the US star on the 14th with an eagle to move her into a tie for the lead with three others at seven-under at the top of the leaderboard.

Things can change quickly in golf, and the third round of the women's Olympics tournament is proving that. It's not just Rose Zhang who has come a little unstuck in recent holes. Swiss player Morgane Metraux, who began the day in the lead, has bogeyed three of the last four to leave her at six-under, one behind the two co-leaders, with five to play.
A DREAM COMING TRUE FOR MARIAJO URIBE
Don't forget that, while superstars like Lydia Ko and Nelly Korda are well in the running for medals deep into the third round, for outsider Mariajo Uribe, who has a share of the lead with Ko, this is the Colombian's last-ever outing as a professional. Can she keep it going over her final few holes of the day?
MIYU YAMASHITA LEAPS TO THIRD
Such is the congestion at the top of the leaderboard that even players who had been playing competently but hadn't really looked like making a move are now finding themselves in contention. Take Miyu Yamashita. The Japanese star, who has been there or thereabouts without really coming into the conversation, is now on six-under, just one off the lead, after a birdie on the 15th - her third of the day.
SETBACK FOR KORDA AT 17
Nelly Korda began the day poorly, with two bogeys in her first three, and she's not covering herself in glory to finish either, with her third bogey of the day on the par-4 17th. She's still in good shape on the leaderboard on four-under and three off the lead, but she'll be kicking herself after some sparkling play earlier to put herself in the mix.
MORE CHANGES AT THE TOP!
There's more shuffling around at the top of the leaderboard. Former leader Morgane Metraux birdied the 14th to move her to seven-under and within one, while Thailand's Atthaya Thitikul has just followed suit on the 16th to move to six-under. Out in front? Lydia Ko, who confidently birdied the 14th to lead by one.
NELLY KORDA DONE FOR THE DAY
The 2020 gold medal winner is currently in the hunt for a repeat after she finished with a two-under round of 70 to see her on four-under with one round to play. That's just four behind leader Lydia Ko as things stand.
PAIN FOR PIA
Solvenia's Pia Babnik had been going along nicely enough at five-under, within sight of the lead, but it all went horribly wrong on the par-4 16th with a quadruple bogey to drop her back to one-under for the tournament.

What an up-and-down day for Celine Boutier! After making par on her first 10 holes, she has now followed that with four birdies, a bogey and a triple bogey! The latest birdie came at the 17th, and she's still in contention at three-under.

What a way to finish for Rose Zhang. She eagled the 14th before promptly following that with a double-bogey on the 15th, but she's made her second eagle of the round on the 18th to leave her just one behind Lydia Ko at the top. She's currently the highest-placed American.

One of the rounds of the day came from Australian Hannah Green with a 66 that included a beautiful hole out for eagle on the 17th to leave her three-under and five off the lead. Here's what she had to say about her magic moment on the penultimate hole.
"I was in between clubs but decided to go with a longer club and cut it into the wind. It just landed maybe five meters, six meters short and then obviously rolled in. I wasn't sure if it hit the pin really hard. I haven't seen the replay. But I haven't holed out from quite a distance in a long time. Felt nice to not have to get the putter out and tap-in."
BROOKE STAYS IN TOUCH
Canadian Brooke Henderson's not out of the running just yet either, at two-under. She was satisfied with her five-under 67 effort today, saying:
"I felt like everything was just working really well. It's nice on moving day to move up as much as I did. I'm just looking forward to tomorrow."

Rose Zhang is refusing to get ahead of herself after she finished just two behind the co-leaders on seven-under. After she remains in sight of a medal, she said: "I don't think there needs to be a change, and I think personally, you know, what I can do and what I can control is the most important. I'm here to just enjoy the grind and I know I'm going to have to grind tomorrow but you know, you just have to be in the moment."

Good morning, and welcome to the final day's play here at Le Golf National, where we will finally find out who will claim the gold, silver and bronze medals in the Olympic Women’s Golf.
The leaders head off in just under an hour, where Lydia Ko and Morgane Metraux share the lead at nine-under. Behind them are a number of big names, including Rose Zhang, Atthaya Thitikul and Nelly Korda, who are all vying for a medal position.
Currently, the early wave are out on the course and, with the weather looking perfect out there, scoring has been strong, with the likes of Charley Hull making a hot start in Paris. She's two-under through three holes, whilst former World No.1, Jin Young Ko, has birdied the second to sit one-under for the round.
It's set to be an exciting final day, so sit back and relax as we take you through the final round of action!
GEORIGA HALL MAKES BIRDIE
It's been a strong start for Team GB's Charley Hull, and her teammate, Georgia Hall, has also made a great start. Making par at the first, the former Major winner puts an iron into the green on the par 3 second, with the 28-year-old holing her mid-range putt for birdie. She's one-under through two and two-over for the tournament.
HOW TO WATCH
As we get into the business end of the tournament, you may be wondering, how do I watch the final day's play? Well, there are multiple ways and, in this piece (via the link), we explain how to watch all the action on Saturday!
FIRST PLAYING TOUGH
We've had 15 groups play the first today and, amazingly, we have seen just one birdie at the opening hole on Saturday! That came from Ireland's Stephanie Meadow, who is eight-over-par for the tournament.
Along with the birdie, there have been multiple bogeys and a few doubles, with the par 4 playing at +.358. That makes one of the hardest holes of the week and, given the danger present, we're not surprised!
CHIEN GOES BACK-TO-BACK
It's a great start from Chinese Taipei's Peiyun Chien, who has just birdied the second and third to draw herself back to level-par for the tournament. The 33-year-old will need to go low today to have a chance of a medal but, with that quick start, you never know!
NOW ON THE TEE, BROOKE HENDERSON
Canada's Brooke Henderson was one of the favorites coming into the week and, following rounds of 74, 73 and 67, she still has a chance at a medal. Henderson is paired alongside Germany's Esther Henseleit and Slovenia's Pia Babnik.
As mentioned, the first has been playing tough but, with her opening tee shot, Henderson hits the middle of the fairway, whilst Henseleit and Babnik follow the Canadian and are safely on the short grass. The trio are two-under-par and five back of the bronze medal spots. They are also seven back of the gold medal places, so will need a low day today.
HUGE RECEPTION FOR FRENCHWOMAN BOUTIER
Celine Boutier tees off shortly. The Frenchwoman is -4 and five shots off the lead. She has got a huge reception heading to the tee in Paris where she has been serenaded with the national anthem by fans. She will look to ride the wave of home support like Victor Perez did in the men's when he finished fourth with a superb final charge.
HIGH PROFILE TRIO OF KORDA, BOUTIER AND Xiyu Lin TEE OFF
World No.1 Korda has teed off and found the fairway on the first but Boutier and Lin have missed it and are in the right rough. It forces Boutier and Lin to lay up as Korda finds the green.
HENDERSON ROLLS IN BIRDIE AT PAR 3 SECOND
Henderson is off to a good start with a birdie at the par 3 second after putting a 147-yard tee shot to 10 feet. The Canadian is now -3 in total.
COLOMBIAN Mariajo Uribe MAKES FINAL PRO APPEARANCE
Mariajo Uribe has teed off at -5 and the 34-year-old mother is making her final appearance before retiring. It would be a perfect finale if she can bow out with a medal.
BOUTIER DROPS A SHOT AT THE FIRST
Boutier has paid a price and dropped a shot with a bogey at the first after driving into the right rough which forced her to lay up. She wedged on to the green but couldn't covert her left to right curling putt. Xiyu Lin escapes with a par and Korda also makes a 4.
KORDA TEES UP BIRDIE CHANCE AT SECOND
World No.1 Nelly Korda has produced a brilliant tee shot at the par 3 second with a 146-yard shot to seven feet which she converts as she eyes her seventh victory this year.
FINAL THREE-BALL UNDERWAY
Morgane Metraux, ranked 137th in the world, has teed off alongside Lydia Ko at -9 but the Swiss player has had a nightmare tee shot with a hooked drive which finds the water. Ko makes an assured start by finding the fairway as does Rose Zhang, aged 21, who is -7.
Morgane Metraux takes penalty drop after finding water
Metraux now needs to compose herself after a dire opening hooked 240-yard tee shot into the drink. She has taken a drop and has about 190 to go as she pulls off a decent hybrid shot to the right side of the green. That is a settler for her. Ko will also struggle to make par after going over the back but Zhang is on the green in regulation.
NERVES ON SHOW WITH PLENTY OF EARLY DROPPED SHOTS
Ko is struggling to make par on the first after missing the green and mis-cuing a chip. While up ahead on the second, Atthaya Thitikul and Mariajo Uribe have both gone in the water at the par 3 and make double bogeys.
Ruoning Yin makes eagle on the third
China's Ruoning Yin is -2 for the day and -6 in total after an eagle 3 on the par 5 third after draining from 60 feet.
KO AND Metraux BOTH BOGEY THE FIRST
We now have a three-way tie at the top after Ko and Metraux both dropped a shot at the first. Metraux will take that after finding the water off the tee but Ko will be very disappointed. They are level at the top at -8 with Japan's Miyu Yamashita.
KORDA WEDGES CLOSE ON PAR 3 5TH AND HAS ANOTHER BIRDIE LOOK
Korda has just birdied the third from four feet for back to back birdies to get to -6 which is a superb , and ominous, start. She has then teed off on the fourth and has boomed a 294-yard drive down the middle of the fairway before firing a wedge in close as she eventually had to settle for a par.
Morgane Metraux'S NIGHTMARE START CONTINUES
Metraux is no longer co-leading after a second successive bogey at the second with a three putt after hitting the par 3. She has then followed that up with a poor second on the par 5 third but at least she can count on the support of her older sister, Kim, who competed in the 2020 Games and currently plays on the Ladies European Tour.

Home favourite Celine Boutier is +2 for four holes to slip to -2 in total after bogeys on the first and fourth. She is down 10 places in a tie for 17th currently.
KO WITH A BIRDIE PUTT FOR THE LEAD ON THE THIRD
Lydia Ko has splashed out of the greenside bunker at the third to set up a birdie putt for the solo lead. She has previously got Olympic bronze and silver and just needs a gold to complete the set. She makes the putt to get to -9 and into the lead her own.
KORDA WITH A BATTLE TO SAVE PAR ON THE FIFTH
Korda finds a bunker on the fifth with her approach and has a tough putt to save par which she has missed. That is her first dropped shot.
UNFORCED ERROR FROM KO ON THE FOURTH
Leader Ko has missed the green from 127 yards on the par four fourth with an approach which has come up 50 feet short before she chips up close and saves par.
Metraux's hopes fading fast amid meltdown
Metraux has recorded successive pars after opening with two bogeys but is in trouble left off the tee again on the fifth. That appears to be her bad miss today. It has proved costly as she has now had three shots and is still not back on the fairway. Ouch. This is painful. She has then chipped up over the back of the green and left her putt short to tap in for a triple bogey seven. I'll be surprised if there is anyway back from this for the Swiss pro in this competition.
Australian Green making her move
Green is -4 for her round on the ninth and -7 in total after climbing up the leaderboard into a tie for third. The Australian has found the fairway on the par 5 ninth. After an opening 77, the Aussie, who is a two-time LPGA winner this year, looked out of it but not any more.
KO IN GOOD SHAPE ON SEVENTH FAIRWAY OFF THE TEE
After opening with a bogey, Ko is going along steadily now after getting back to level par for the day on the third before three straight pars. She remains in the lead on her own at -9 and is now on the green in regulation where she has drained a huge birdie putt to get to -10 - two shots in the lead.
GREEN IN TROUBLE OFF THE TENTH TEE
Green's charge could be halted on the 10th where her tee shot has gone left and has finished in the water as she has to take a penalty drop en-route to a double bogey.
Miyu Yamashita of Japan sees her prospects hit by double bogey
Japan got a medal in then men's through Hideki Matsuyama's bronze and Miyu Yamashita is in the mix today but has had a costly double bogey on the par 5 ninth.
KORDA FACES BATTLE TO SAVE PAR ON THE TENTH
Korda has chipped past the hole on the 10th and has a testing par putt after making a birdie on the ninth. She makes her putt and that is successive decent up and downs.
KO FINDS THE FAIRWAY OFF THE NINTH TEE
Ko is three shots in the lead and looking solid. She is in good shape off the tee on the par 5 ninth and has put a fairway wood to pin high in the fringe. She will have a makeable up and down to potentially increase her lead which she achieves.

ZHANG IS IN THE WATER ON THE NINTH
Rose Zhang hasn't had much luck with her putter today. She has had a lot of putts slide past the hole and now she has gone left off the tee at the ninth and into water which will add to her woes as she then chips from one side of the green over to the other. Now she has putted up from off the green below the hole but she still has work to do to make a bogey and she records a seven.
KO PRODUCES ANOTHER DECENT DRIVE AT 10TH
Ko looks extremely good for gold here. She seems unflappable and has just found the fairway off the 10th tee with a 226-yard drive before finding the green but she is 42 feet away. Yet her lag putting from distance has been class and she has another tap in par.
KO FINDS THE MIDDLE OF THE PAR 3 11TH
Ko, our leader by five shots, has found the middle of the green at the par 3 11th as she consolidates her lead. A week ago in the men's , Jon Rahm had a four-shot lead before collapsing but there is no sign of Ko emulating him. Ko putts up close and makes par.
KORDA'S MEDAL HOPES COULD BE SUNK AT 13TH
Korda at -5 still has a great chance of a medal but looks to have gone in the water at the par 4 13th. The ball has stayed dry though and she has chipped out and wedge up in an effort to save par but makes a bogey.
WHAT A ROUND Albane Valenzuela IS HAVING!
Valenzuela of Switzerland has just played a stupendous second to the par 5 18th to set up an eagle from four feet which gets her to -7 for her round with a 65 and a -3 total. Her round today is a joint course record.
Esther Henseleit currently occupying the silver medal spot
Esther Henseleit of Germany is -4 for the day and -6 in total and is in second alone at the moment. She is on the 15th fairway and a good finish could see her close out second spot but the finish here is very tough. Her approach to the 15th has missed the green on the left leaving a tricky chip or putt from off the green.
GREEN MOVES TO -6 AND INTO SHARE OF SILVER
Green's medal prospects were hit by a double at the 10th but an up and down from the sand on the 14th for a birdie on the par 5 has got her back to -6 in total and she is level in second with Henseleit.
CRACKING DRIVE FROM KO ON THE 13TH
Ko is closing in on gold now after finding the 13th fairway off the tee at the par 4.
KORDA WITH A CHANCE TO RESPOND ON 14TH
The world No.1 has chipped up close and has a chance of a birdie at the par 5 14th, which would get her into a share of the bronze medal which she makes to get to -5.
drama at 13th as Ko's approach finds water
Ko may have thrown in a rare unforced error here taking on the flag at the par 4 13th which has brought the water into play. Her approach has come up short and is wet. The New Zealand leader now wedges up to about 10 feet from the drop zone and has that for bogey as she records a six.
KORDA FINDS WATER AT 15TH
Korda's medal hopes have taken a huge blow with a poor iron approach shot at the 15th into the water. That approach shot wasn't even close to making the green. That is going to be a triple bogey seven.
Esther Henseleit birdies the 17th to occupy second place on her own
That is a brilliant birdie from Esther Henseleit on the 17th for Germany. If she can finish well now on the par 5 18th, the silver medal at least should be hers. She is on the green in two and has an eagle putt to get to -9 to join Ko, who has just made par on the 14th. Her eagle effort misses out but she should get a birdie. Meanwhile, Yamashita , who is also -7, has gone in the water at the 16th.
Esther Henseleit taps in for a birdie four to finish on -8
Esther Henseleit is in the clubhouse on -8 which is a decent target which should ensure a medal after a fine -6 round. It could even be gold if Ko collapses but the New Zealand leader is -9 with three holes left. Henseleit has had a memorable week with her caddie and fiancé on the bag.

CHINA SET FOR BRONZE MEDAL
Bianca Pagdanganan (68) finished 6 under. That’s currently T-3 with Hannah Green and Xiyu Lin playing the 18th. We could have a play-off for the bronze medal but Lin makes a birdie to get to -7 on her own.

LEADER KO HAS PUTTED UP CLOSE ON THE 16TH
Ko looks to have negotiated the par 3 16th after hitting the green and putting up close from 46 feet. She converts it dead centre at a decent pace.
KORDA FINISHES -1 WITH A CLOSING BACK NINE OF 40
Korda, the in-form world No.1, has finished a disappointing -1 and is in tied 21st at the moment after a poor 75, including a back nine of 40 today.
KO HITS THE 17TH GREEN IN REGULATION
Two fine shots from Ko who has hit the green in regulation on the 403-yard par 4 17th. She just has to par the last two holes for gold. She putts up close to get her four and just has one more hole to negotiate.
KO TAKES A THREE WOOD OFF TEE AT PAR 5 18TH
Ko , the leader by one shot, has taken a three wood off the 18th tee and , needing just a par to win golf, is set to play the final par 5 hole in regulation and is unlikely to be going for the green in two.
KO TAKING SAFETY OPTION UP THE LAST
Ko needs a par up the last to win gold and she is going to play the par 5 the conventional way. She hasn't taken on the water with her second shot but has played up short to leave a wedge over water in to the flag. Three more shots and the gold is hers. She has had a fine final round unlike poor Morgane Metraux who started the day level with her but is now +7 for today and has just shanked it up the last.
KO WEDGES HER APPROACH TO THE 18TH TO VERY CLOSE
Ko now has almost two hands on the gold medal after a fine approach with her third to the par 5 18th. She will have two putts from around six foot to wrap it up but she only needs one.
