Leigh Sports Village plays host to Sweden and Belgium tomorrow night as the Women’s Euro 2022 quarter-finals continue.

This year’s tournament has seen some incredible games and attendance records tumbling, and we’re set for more superb action as the quarter-finals reach the area. With two places having already been decided for the semi-finals, Sweden and Belgium will be hoping to follow suit.

Here’s everything you need to know about tomorrow’s game at Leigh Sports Village.

How to watch

Tickets for tomorrow’s match have now sold out, however live coverage of the match will be broadcast on BBC Two from 7.30pm, and live commentary can be found on BBC Radio 5 Live at 8pm.

Key players

Kosovare Asllani (Sweden)

Having signed for Italian side AC Milan at the end of last month, Asllani is an experienced player in both club and international football, with over 160 caps for Sweden. She is a crucial playmaker for Sweden, with three assists in the last three matches, equalling the impressive tallies of England's Beth Mead and Fran Kirby.

Fridolina Rolfö (Sweden)

Barcelona forward Rolfö could be a huge threat to the Belgian defence, having the ability to set up goals while also scoring some for herself. In the three group stage matches, she had a total of 10 attempts on goal, in addition to scoring once and making an assist.

In the past season, she has scored nine goals and created 10 assists in 26 matches for her club Barcelona, who are currently one of the best in Europe, having just missed out on a second Champions League title in a row.

Nicky Evrard (Belgium)

Belgium's first choice keeper Nicky Evrard will have to be on her toes if Belgium want to win tomorrow as Sweden will undoubtedly make plenty of chances. She has made more saves than any other keeper in the quarter-finals with a total of 14, which is double the amount made by Sweden's Hedvig Lindahl. Tomorrow, she could be crucial for Belgium in denying Sweden of potential goals and possibly securing a place in the semi-finals.

Road to the quarter-finals

Neither side has had a straightforward route to the quarter-finals, with neither team winning every group stage match. Sweden have been the more successful side however, having won two and drawn one match in comparison to Belgium's one win, one draw and a loss against group D winners France.

In the group stages, Sweden scored a total of eight goals while only conceding two, whereas Belgium scored three and conceded another three goals. The stats show that Sweden are the more successful side and are favourites to win, but Belgium will without a doubt give Sweden a good battle and showcase why they deserve to go through to the semi-finals.

Who could they face in the semi-finals?

The winner of this match will go on to play England in the semi-final held at Bramall Lane on Tuesday at 8pm. A small selection of tickets will be made available to either Swedish or Belgian fans (depending on the result) and any leftover tickets will go on general sale typically the day after the match. Information on limited ticket releases can be found on Twitter on the @WEUROTicketing page.
