Recently, two women have come forward claiming that they were paid for sex by former Rep. Matt Gaetz. These women have provided House ethics investigators with a significant amount of evidence related to their interactions with the Florida Republican.
According to their lawyer, the women shared numerous photos from their time spent with Gaetz, including images from an alleged 2019 trip to New York. It is reported that Gaetz paid the women for sex during this trip and covered their travel expenses. Additionally, the women joined Gaetz at a Fox News studio while he filmed a TV appearance.
The women also provided the House Ethics Committee with selfies that Gaetz allegedly sent them. They testified that they sent nude photos to Gaetz, sometimes at his request. House investigators questioned the women about records showing payments, mostly transmitted electronically, that were allegedly made to them by Gaetz. The records indicated that one of the women received over $6,000 from Gaetz, while the other received more than $4,000.
According to their lawyer, Joel Leppard, the evidence presented to the House is just a fraction of what is available. Thousands of documents have been obtained by the investigators, shedding light on the nature of the relationship between Gaetz and the two women.
