Doctors have expressed immense joy following the birth of Hugo Powell, a baby boy delivered in London after his mother received a pioneering womb transplant from a deceased donor.

Born in December at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital, Hugo weighed a healthy 6lb 13oz (3.1kg), marking a significant medical achievement after a successful pregnancy.
