Woman who strangled five-year-old daughter to death called 'the best mum' by partner

A mum who strangled her five-year-old daughter to death during lockdown wept in court as she was handed a five-year prison sentence today.

Martina Madorva killed little girl Alijah Thomas on September 14 last year at the family home in Ealing, London.

Alijah's father David stated he doesn't blame his partner for the youngster's death and affectionately described the 41-year-old carer as "the best mum".
