Woman who died in A725 horror crash named as tributes paid to 'beautiful friend'

A woman who died in a horror crash on the A725 last Tuesday has been named as Shamim Rashid. The 66-year-old driver was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after the incident which took place around 4.20pm at the Bellshill Bypass, but she later passed away.

Her husband, who was the 70-year-old male passenger, is believed to be in a critical condition in hospital. Family and friends of Shamim, from Bellshill, have said that she died in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

In a tribute Yasmin Majid said: "We lost our beautiful friend in car accident. May Allah SWT grant baji Shamim Rashid highest rank in jannah-tul-firdouse and give her family sabbar. No doubt she was a wonderful person very loving and caring."
