Woman told she had tonsillitis was actually weeks away from death

A woman who was told she had tonsillitis correctly diagnosed herself with leukaemia - using Google.

Chloe-Leigh Todd, 22, from Gateshead in Tyne and Wear, started experiencing a sore throat and general illness. One month after starting to feel unwell, Chloe had a telephone appointment with her GP and was told she had tonsillitis.

After googling her symptoms, which included vomiting, night sweats, and weight loss, Chloe realised she was suffering from textbook sings of leukaemia. Chloe managed to have a face-to-face appointment in June 2020 where she went for a blood test.
