A woman "couldn't believe" when she spotted a "little gem" on the market.
Gill Dennis lives in the oldest house in Wallasey and one of the oldest houses in Merseyside. Her home The Old House on Limekiln Lane, is around 400 years old, and rivals West Derby's Tuebrook House and the Woolton Hall as one of the oldest buildings in Merseyside.
Gill moved to the historic building in 2016, after spotting in it on Rightmove. But before that she had spent nearly everyday on her morning commute admiring the building as she drove past.

She told the ECHO: "I wanted to move. I'd lost my parents within a few years of each other. I was living in Liscard in the family home and after more or less a lifetime I decided I needed a new start, once my dad died.
"So I sold his house and my house and put the money together. I found this little gem which I couldn't believe.
"In the past I'd lived on Chamberlain Street nearby, and years and years ago I drove past the Old House every day when I was going to work.
"When I saw it on Rightmove, as a six bedroom detached house with parking and a big garden, I couldn't believe it was that house I'd spent ages in traffic looking at.
"The previous owner was an environmental architect named Roger Kelly. He had bought it at auction with his son in about 2010.
"It was downtrodden and really quite derelict at the time, but he lived in it as he was renovating it back to it's original state, but with a modern twist of a boiler and central heating.
"He restored it all so well that when I was moving it it was like a freshly-done, albeit 400 years old, home.
"Roger died in 2019 from cancer and soon after the family approached me to see if I wouldn't mind putting up a blue plaque in his honour.
"Of course I said yes. The mayor unveiled it and we had a bit of a garden party.
"He worked solidly for the whole six years and the house it a credit to him, hence the blue plaque.
"I have total pride in living here. Everyday I just pull up to the house and look at it and it's just lovely, it really is."
