A woman in her 80s, who was seriously injured after being knocked down by an e-scooter in Dublin this week, has tragically died in hospital.
On Tuesday afternoon, at around 3pm, the female pedestrian was injured in a collision with an e-scooter on Eccles Street, Dublin 7. She was subsequently taken to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, where she has since passed away.
Gardaí have said that investigations are ongoing and that a post-mortem will now take place.

A male, who was not named, has been arrested in relation to this incident. He was detained at a Garda Station in North Dublin under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, however, he was later released for a file to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in relation to this matter.
In a statement, Gardaí said that they were appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward.
A Garda spokesperson told The Irish Mirror: "Any road users who were travelling in the area with camera footage, including dash cam, are asked to make this available to the investigation team.
