Woman spots limping airport worker, starts fundraiser that brings in more than $170,000

Sometimes, a brief moment witnessed by a stranger can change someone's life forever. That is exactly what happened to James Blair, a US Navy veteran and long-serving airport worker at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California. While travelling through the airport, Utah resident Lacinda Thackeray noticed Blair limping across the tarmac as he continued refuelling the aircraft despite obvious pain. So touched was she by what she saw that she made a short video and created a GoFundMe page to assist him in retiring with dignity. In a matter of weeks, thousands of individuals from all over the world contributed to his cause and he was able to receive an overwhelming amount of more than $170,000.
