December is just days away and many Christmas fans are already planning how they will decorate their homes - and one woman has shared a DIY trick to make a whole new decoration.
While we all have boxes of go to decorations stashed away for every year, people may want to find new ideas to add to their festive arsenal.
Luckily, one Christmas enthusiast has shared her quick hack for the perfect "DIY bows", which can be added to your tree, garlands or presents. All you need is some ribbon - and two feet.
In a video posted to the Instagram account @effectivespaces, Natasha Swingler demonstrated the tip by wrapping a long, thick piece of ribbon around her two feet, before tying it like a classic ribbon. By doing this, you are left with a classic swooping bow.
She then finishes the clip by placing the decoration on her garland above the fire place. Fans were quick to praise the "great" hack with many planning to give it a try.
Speaking about the video one user commented: "Definitely saving this for the bow technique", while another complimented: "You’re so clever. Love all your ideas."
While the finished bow is quite large, the DIY fan explained how you can you can use the tip to make them smaller. She advised in the caption: "For smaller bows (on gifts) you can use exactly the same method on your hands."
One viewer confessed that the tip had solved her ribbon troubles: WOW!! This is a really great tip. I always spend a-g-e-s trying to get my bows perfect.
"Thanks for the video, it makes it much easier."
When one comment asked how long the ribbon should be, the woman was quick to offer advice: "It all depends on the size that you want.
"Whenever I am doing any bows, whether it’s for decor or on gifts, I keep the ribbon on the roll to measure it to save any wastage and then cut the ribbon at the last minute."
