POLICE have locked down a lane in Glasgow’s city centre after a woman was sexually assaulted in the early hours of the morning.
Officers have cordoned off Virginia Place in Glasgow city centre following a report of a woman being sexually assaulted at around 3.20am on Saturday.
Two officers and a van were seen at the scene on Saturday morning, along with a long stretch of Virginia Place being taped off.
Police said enquiries into the incident are at an early stage and they have yet to establish the full circumstances.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We are investigating a report of the sexual assault of a woman which occurred In Virginia Place, Glasgow, around 3.20am on Saturday, 27 June 2026.
“Enquiries are at an early stage to establish the full circumstances.”
