Woman says Volkswagen sensor stopped car, right in front of an oncoming truck. But the service center allegedly calls her ‘crazy’

If you’ve ever felt like you don’t have complete control of your vehicle because of the tech in it, you aren’t alone. Erin Armstrong, a Canadian opera singer and mother, took to Instagram a few weeks ago to share a harrowing experience courtesy of her car’s sensors. She detailed the moment her Volkswagen Atlas allegedly stopped dead in the middle of an intersection, right in the path of oncoming traffic. The video has since racked up over 245K views.

In the video, Armstrong claims: “So Volkswagen, earlier today, my son and I, who has just turned one, almost died because of your malfunctioning sensor.” She explains that she was pulling out to make a left turn at an intersection with “no pedestrians, no bicycles, and no other cars nearby.” The only visible vehicle was a large truck coming from the left.
