Woman says her birthday gift to twin brother got labeled by his girlfriend as an attempt ‘to show her up deliberately’ with ‘childish’ gift

A Reddit user recently found themselves in a bizarre conflict after their twin brother’s girlfriend allegedly accused them of intentionally showing her up during a birthday gift exchange. Taking to the AmItheAhole subreddit, LegoBirthdayGift explained that she and her twin brother are 25 years old and have shared a deep love for Lego since childhood. Growing up, their family couldn’t afford many sets, so they treasured the ones they had.

In her post on Reddit, she noted that they frequently bought bags of loose bricks from charity shops. This shared hobby was a major bonding experience. According to her, the brother even credits those early days of building with inspiring him to become an architect. On their birthday a few days ago, the twins held a small family gathering. She noted that her boyfriend and her brother’s girlfriend of two years were both in attendance, and that they had given nice gifts.
