A woman has issued a warning over a viral TikTok health trend after it left her with a nasty cut on her head.
Most people love a quick way to lose a few pounds off the stomach area and in the latest health kick trend, people are flocking to Amazon and the TikTok shop to buy a smart weighted hula hoop. It works similarly to a normal hula hoop but has a small weight attached which swings around as you rotate your hips.
And the weight loss is easy to track with it as when you lose inches off your waist you can remove a link from the hoop. Because of this social media users have gone crazy for it and are tracking their progress on the video sharing app - however, for some it has been more of a hinderance than a help.

One Amazon user, named Emma, left a review on the hoop that she purchased warning others of the dangers of the item after the weighted ball came unattached and pelted her right in the face. She uploaded an image showing the damage the weight had done, as she had a nasty bruise and cut just above her eye.
She wrote: "Absolutely shocking, dangerous, the ball comes off and has hit me in the face" as she awarded the product just one star.
The shopper added: "Do not buy, dangerous, not safe at all! The ball came off and hit me in the head causing injury to cut open!"
Another user, named Mia, also warned people not to use the product due to the ball coming loose for her too. However, instead of personal injury this time the ball went flying into her TV and smashed the screen.
She uploaded a photo of the damaged television as she wrote: "Do not buy this product under any circumstances, I used it for less than 30 seconds before the sand bag flew off and landed right into our new TV and has damaged it beyond repair. I should have listen to the reviews, it turns out that one of the clips has snapped, within 30 seconds! I am disgusted with this product."
A third buyer called the purchase "very expensive" after her TV was also smashed. Karen wrote: "I was initially pleased but while using the clips came undone and the weight swung off and smashed my TV so making it a VERY expensive purchase as I now need to replace a 50" TV, so be careful where you use it."
