There's someone in every family who somehow always manages to ring at precisely the wrong time, but one dad, in particular, has proven to be the all-time champion of this. The sweet moment, which the woman probably won't forget in a hurry, was captured by BBC News and later shared by the popular Twitter account Royal Central where the video clocked up more than 11.7k views and counting.
Royal watchers have been thrilled by the hilariously timed phone call, hailing it as "brilliant" and "so cute". One person chuckled, "bad timing dad!" while another observed, "Her Dad is now a part of the day too."
A third person laughed: "You can't do this to Dad when you're with your boyfriend, but you can with Prince William!"
King Charles III and his son Prince William took the impromptu walkabout in London as crowds of people continue to queue up to pay their final respects to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth III. Applause could be heard as the King and Prince William made their surprise appearance, with the father and son greeting and shaking hands with many of the mourners.
This comes after one well-wisher in Cardiff handed King Charles a pen, in a jokey reference to his recent mishap with a fountain pen at Hillsborough Castle in Northern Ireland earlier this week. The new King appeared to take the cheeky gesture with good humour.
