Woman's horrific scars after mauling by dog she was told was safe to pet

A woman scarred for life after being mauled by a dog she stopped to stroke has shared photos of her shocking injuries.

Sam Lodge, 53, was walking home on Friday, April 1, when she came across a woman walking a whippet-like dog in Grimsby.

She says she asked if the dog was friendly before bending down to stroke it - but ending up being savagely attacked in the face.
