But one mum has been forced to rethink her wedding plans after her sister decided to get married just one week after her in a destination wedding in New York City.
Posting anonymously on Mumsnet, the woman explained she wasn't worried about her sister "stealing her thunder" but instead had concerns over her finances - as she wouldn't be able to afford to stay in New York when she had just paid out so much money for her own wedding.
