Turning someone down is never easy but honesty is always the best policy in such situations, even if it seems a little too brutal. One woman who had to reject a long-time friend’s advances has taken to Reddit for advice after mutual friends accused her of being too harsh.
According to the woman, her guy friend of ten years, whom she refers to as “Mark” (not his real name) explains that he had asked her to meet for lunch and that he had “something important” that he needed to discuss with her. Immediately starting on the wrong foot, he begins trashing her current boyfriend, telling her that he doesn’t understand why she’s with him when Mark is better looking, taller, and more successful (according to Mark).
