Woman wants to find man on Lanzarote TUI flight she had 'connection' with
A woman wants to find man she sat next to on a TUI flight who she felt she had a "connection" with.
Jane Annakin was flying back from Lanzarote to Manchester Airport at 12.30pm on Sunday, October 9 when she sat next to a man who she said she chatted to for the "duration of the flight". The 53-year-old said she now regrets not asking if he wanted to stay in touch.
Jane told the ECHO she had actually booked a different seat on the plane, however the night before she flew she changed it. The 53-year-old, from Castleford, added she believes she "changed it for a reason".

Speaking to the ECHO, Jane said: "We were on a row of four seats and I was sitting on the end and he, his mum and I think his stepdad came. I just said to him 'look if you don't want to talk during the flight, that is fine', because I can literally talk the hind leg of a donkey.
"I said 'I will read my book' and he said 'no, no, I like talking'. We literally spoke for the duration of the flight which was like four hours or so.
"He just opened up and told me so many things that you wouldn't tell a stranger. We just got on so well and it was so refreshing to have a conversation like that and click with someone like that." Read the full story here.
Man stabbed neighbour in 'frenzied attack' after parking row
A man launched a frenzied attack and stabbed his 60-year-old neighbour four times in a long-running row over parking.
Anthony Swarbrick attacked Stanley Greaves on May 19 with a rusty screwdriver then grabbed a claw hammer from his neighbour's tool box and went in search of his wife. Fortunately Mr Greaves managed to disarm Swarbrick who said, “I’ve got issues and I’m not happy with your cameras.”
Mr Greaves pointed out that 59-year-old Swarbrick, of Shrewsbury Avenue, Aintree, had damaged one of his cameras and his daughter’s car and after the defendant walked off, Mr Greaves locked his gates and called the police.

Liverpool Crown Court heard that during the attack - described by Recorder Ian Harris as “unprovoked, cruel and cowardly” - Swarbrick lunged towards his victim’s stomach with a "thrust of a sword" type motion. Mr Greaves was particularly worried as he had previously had major stomach surgery.
When Swarbrick lunged at him “Mr Greaves turned to the side and brought his arm up in an effort to protect himself. Swarbrick then stabbed Mr Greaves about four times with the screwdriver head pointing downwards. Read more here.
'Model student' suspended over Vivienne Westwood black shoes
A pair of black leather Vivienne Westwood shoes led to a 14-year-old 'model student' being kicked out of school.
Ormskirk School pupil Lilly Issitt, from Burscough, was suspended from classes for a day and a half for wearing the £70 slip-ons, which the school says violates its dress code.

The Year 10 pupil had previously been put into isolation for wearing the shoes, along with allegedly dozens of other pupils whose uniforms failed to meet the strict rules.

The Endeavour Learning Trust, which has sponsored Ormskirk School since April, said it introduced the dress code in May - but Lilly's mum Rachel, 39, says she was not aware of this until after the start of the new school year.
She said: "After they came back in September, the school issued a list of things the children could and couldn't wear. There have been children suspended for wearing charcoal grey trousers instead of ordinary grey. But they only did this after the children had gone back - so everyone had already bought their uniforms. Read more here.
