A woman's body has been found in a river in Bedminster, police have confirmed. Emergency services were called to Bedminster Bridge, near Coronation Road, at around 5.30am today (June 12).
Witnesses report seeing police vehicles, fire engines and ambulances near Coronation Road. It was later confirmed by the emergency services that the body of a woman had been located in the river near Bedminster Bridge.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police told BristolLive enquiries are being made to establish the woman's identity and inform her next of kin.

The spokesperson said: "At approximately 5.30am this morning the body of a woman was sadly located in the river near Bedminster Bridge.
"Emergency services attended and have since recovered the body. Enquiries are currently on going to establish the woman's identity and to inform her next of kin as a priority."
