A body has been found in the grounds of Bangor Cathedral in Gwynedd, North Wales Police has confirmed. Emergency services were called to the site at around 10.10am on Thursday morning following reports that a woman's body had been found.
A major police presence was seen on Thursday at the cathedral alongside Bangor's high street. The area is cordoned off while investigation work takes place.

North Wales Police have confirmed that the body found was that of a woman. A spokesperson said: "We received a call at 10.10am this morning reporting the discovery of the body of a woman in the grounds of Bangor Cathedral. Local officers are in attendance with colleagues from the Welsh Ambulance Service Trust.
"The deceased's next of kin have been informed and the circumstances are not thought to be suspicious at this time."
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “We were called today (22 September) at 10:17am to reports of an incident on Cadeirlan Deiniol, Bangor. We sent one emergency ambulance to the scene."
