Woman removes 'very rude' note anonymous stranger leaves driver on car

A woman has swiped a rude note off a strangers car which was left by a neighbour complaining about the driver parking on the road.

The angry note, which could be read as threatening, was left on a car on a street in Oswestry, Shropshire.

The woman's mum spotted the note decided to remove it so as not to cause distress to the driver.

She has dubbed the contents of the note "very rude" and she worried it could leave somebody feeling "upset."

The woman who wishes to remain anonymous said the area is home to a number of elderly residents, many of whom rely on carers in their day-to-day lives.

She said that this could easily have been a carer's car or someone visiting an elderly loved one.

The short note mentioned York Street no less than four times.

It said: "If you do not live on York Street do not park on York Street because you are being a massive inconvenience to people who live and York Street and can't park their own cars.

"DO NOT PARK YOUR CAR ON YORK STREET. If you park and leave your car, you are leaving it at your own risk."

The woman who found the note said: "I came home from work and I saw the note, my mum had taken it off a black car who had parked outside our house.

"It was removed because it was very rude, and would probably have either upset or angered them.

"Also there is no legality in it, you can't expect people not to park on a public road especially so close to town! When I read it through, I'll be honest I did laugh a little bit because of how many times they'd said York Street."

She added: "But then it started to annoy me because I know we have a few elderly people on our street who have carers, and I though what if it a carer's car? Or what if someone who lives here has just got a new car?

"Or what if someone is visiting family or friends? Regardless of why, it really doesn't matter, it's a public road. I've only been driving for two years but I have had my whole life to prepare for parking on the street.

"Most houses here have two to three cars per household, so you cannot expect to park all your cars outside your house. It is literally impossible. Everyone else on the street knows this, except whoever has written the note."

Parking on a road is legal providing there are no restrictions in place and you are not blocking a driveway or access road.
