Woman perplexed over warning on PrettyLittleThing bikini - as some left 'so mad'

When you buy a bikini, you have the intention of wearing it in water, right?

After all, that's what the swimwear was made for.

Well, apparently not, as one woman on TikTok found out that a pink bikini she bought from PrettyLittleThing came with a particularly strange warning label - which told her not to get the item wet.

Georgia Ayling posted a video in which she showed off the confusing label on her new swimsuit, which indicated it was only to be worn for "posing" by the side of the pool while soaking up the sun and not for actually taking a dip in.

The label read: "Don't get me wet - poolside posing only."

And Georgia, who posts on TikTok under the username @geeayling, wrote on the clip: "Me trying to figure out why I'd want a bikini that I can't get wet."

People in the comments of Georgia's TikTok video were equally baffled by the strange warning label, with many of them questioning how you would wash the garment if you can't get it wet.

One asked: "How do you wash it?"

While another wrote: "Because the seams will dissolve if it sees moisture, good luck washing it."

Other commenters were "infuriated" by the label, as they couldn't understand the point in buying a bikini that couldn't be used for its main purpose.

Someone said: "This is literally what fast fashion is about. How can they make clothes for the swimming pool but not actually for the pool, just for an Instagram picture? That’s crazy."

As someone else posted: "This makes me so mad."

"It INFURIATES me," a third added.

But some defended the bikini, as a few people stated they'd bought it themselves and had used it in a pool without damaging it at all.

One said: "I still wear mine and it's fine. Nothing happened."

As another added: "I get mine wet, it doesn't fall off I promise."

PrettyLittleThing has been contacted for comment.
