Woman on vacation checks dog camera and is horrified to find group of strangers chilling in her house

A woman enjoying her holiday was given a nasty shock when she decided to check her dog camera only to find a bunch of strangers sitting in her living room. She shared the footage to TikTok although the backstory behind the clip has viewers divided over who was actually in the right.

The clip was posted by a woman named Morgan who explains in the caption that she had hired someone to dogsit for her while she was away from home. To her surprise she received a notification of activity from her doorbell camera and when she checked she saw a group of people she didn’t know leaving her home at 6am.

Checking the dog camera in the house she found out that the group of people had arrived around 2:45am with the footage showing them all chilling in her living room as if it were their own home.

See previous video for more details! But m I woke up and saw a doorbell notification at 6am and people were walking out of my house! People I had never met! Then I see they arrived with my dog sitter at 2:45am! When I tell you my heart stopped?! #dogsitter #horrorstorry #scary #invasionofprivacy

It didn’t take long for Morgan to figure out what was happening as the people arrived with the dogsitter. Clearly the person she had hired thought they could sneak some friends around to Morgan’s house without her noticing. Unfortunately for the sitter, (but fortunately for Morgan), she had cameras recording both inside and outside the house.

Understandably the breach of privacy and trust from the dogsitter was pretty unprofessional and Morgan confirmed that they were fired “immediately” after the discovery.

Not everyone on TikTok thinks the sitter was in the wrong

While many agreed that the dogsitter crossed a line by inviting literal strangers into Morgan’s house, not everyone felt the same way. “What did you think. He was gonna sit in the house with your dog alone all week?” One viewer asked, although another person in the comments quickly fired back, “That’s literally the job description. Why would he bring strangers to his job?” They also suggested filing a police report.

However, another warned that Morgan could put herself in legal trouble if she’s not careful as they pointed out, “You didn’t disclose there’s a camera in home. You’re likely to be counter sued.” While there are plenty of replies arguing whether or not Morgan would have had to disclose that she was recording in her own home it’s likely she would have if she’d hired the dogsitter to stay at her house. Consent is important when it comes to recording others, even in your own home.

Whatever the case, it doesn’t exactly justify bringing literal strangers round to her house, so perhaps in this case it was best that she did have that dog camera in the living room.
