Woman makes McDonald's McChicken sandwich fakeaway - in an air fryer

A good old McDonald's takeaway is something many of us enjoy but sometimes it isn't that easy to get one. One foodie has now looked at making her own version - in an air fryer.

TikToker @kjs_tx posted her recipe on the social media platform and her followers were quick to respond. Helen Sharkey18 commented: "Tried them last night...my god they were beautiful. thanks for a great recipe." A90jue added: "Tastes just like the real deal."

The post has been watched 26,000 times with a number of people saying they will give it a go. This is how she does it.

She said: “Hey huns, let’s make an air fryer McChicken Sandwich fakeaway. Blitz one large chicken breast along with one medium egg and a quarter teaspoon of salt.

“With wet hands, shape the chicken into patties, to be slightly larger than the bun you are using, and around 1cm thick. Coat the patties in corn flour on both sides and then set to one side whilst you make your batter.

“Combine 40g of plain flour with 20g of corn flour, a grain of salt, one teaspoon of online granules, one teaspoon of garlic granules, two teaspoons of English mustard, one egg and 80ml of water. Coat the patties in the batter and put in the freezer for 1-2 hours.

“Air fry at 180 for 12-14 minutes. I served mine on warm buns, with mayo and lettuce”.

This isn't the first fakeaway the TikToker has tried. A previous video showed how to do a KFC Zinger fakeaway.

She has also shared air fryer recipes for everything from toad in the hole and chicken parmos through to doughnut style treats and Nutella Brownies.
