A woman couldn't breathe after her partner put his hands around her throat in a drunken attack. Richard Leverton had what she described as "a spontaneous change of character" when he assaulted her.
Nottingham Crown Court heard on Tuesday, March 29, Leverton had a problem with alcohol. The couple were drinking alcohol at her address on December 19, 2021, and listening to music lying on the bed.
Leverton stood up from the bed and struck her to the face at first. Then he pinned her down on the bed and punched her. He delivered another forceful blow as she tried to leave the bedroom.
