A woman is kicked in the head during a vicious brawl in which a man can be seen holding a hammer.
Footage of the fight, which happened outside Pat's Supermarket in Laytown, Co Meath, was shared on social media after it was claimed to have taken place at around 4.20pm on Monday, July 18 - the hottest day in recent memory.
At least 10 people are shown in the video, which sees a man holding a hammer walking on the road, a woman being hit in the face and kicked and another woman being dragged to the ground by a man and kicked in the head by another female.
Gardai are investigating the "public order incident" that they believe occurred on July 18 at around 4.20pm and are looking for witnesses to and recordings of it.

Gardai said in an appeal: "Laytown Gardaí are investigating a public order incident which occurred on the Coast Road in Laytown at approximately 4.20pm on Monday last July 18th, whereby several people were involved in a physical altercation.
"Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has information in relation to it or anyone who may have a recording of this incident are asked to please contact Laytown Garda Station on 041-9813320 or Ashbourne Garda Station on 01-8010600."
Local Fine Gael Councillor Sharon Tolan said the incident highlighted a lack of Garda resources in the area.
