A woman who joined OnlyFans to pay the medical bills for her pet chihuahua is still on the site five years on and uses it as her main source of income. Sofia, who posts on Instagram as x.sofiasunshine, told LatestDeals.co.uk she originally joined the site as a way to save her new puppy.
Sofia said: "It was motherly instinct that made me join the world of online sex work. I don’t have any children, but five years ago I bought my first dog, a little long-haired Chihuahua puppy.
"Upon the first few weeks of bringing her home, I discovered she had a couple of minor medical conditions. I wasn’t making anywhere close to enough money to cover her medical bills.
"So I called up my best friend, an old high school classmate. His girlfriend was already doing this kind of work successfully, so I asked for his guidance. He happily gave it… and the rest is history.
"My monthly earnings on OnlyFans depends on how much work I’m putting into my platform. In the months where I take a little time off, my page might dip to around £23,000 for the month. But when I’m in go-mode and am working full-time, my page has earned up to £47,000 for the month.
"Before online sex work, I had all kinds of different jobs. Each one of them ended the same way. Either I was fired for being late constantly, or I quit because it was just so far from where I saw myself in life. With every job I cycled through, there was this weird little feeling in the back of my head that told me I was meant to do something different.
"Before sex work I was a city counselor’s personal assistant, I sold car parts at an auto parts store, I managed a huge bookstore, and a whole bunch of other random stuff in between. I never felt truly at home until I joined the online sex worker industry.
"I have a strict schedule that I keep to every day. I spend about 10-15 hours a day in my DM‘s chatting with fans. I also spend about two hours a day making content, whether that be for social media or for the OnlyFans platform specifically.
"Once I had a fan tell me he was into “inflation“. When I asked him what he meant, he proceeded to send me a link that led to an animated video clip of a girl drinking a bottle of Pepsi, and slowly expanding from the carbonation. Kind of like Veruca from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. That was honestly my favourite custom request. That guy was so sweet and genuine. And I put a lot of effort into making his videos.
"Right now I’m saving up my money so I can go on a trip around the world with my puppy at the end of the year. We leave in December and we’ll be starting in Italy, Greece, France, Amsterdam, those types of places. Then we’ll be moving further east into Thailand, Bali, Vietnam and so on. My goal is to make solo content in each one of these different countries. We’ll be gone for six months in total, before coming home for a few months and possibly doing it all again.
"I’ve always wanted to travel. And my job gives me a lot of freedom with regards to where I can do my work. I’m honestly comfortable saying that I’m not sure if I plan on coming back.
"I try to use my money on experiences, rather than items. You won’t see me buying designer shoes or bags. But you will catch me booking plane tickets and trying to do almost anything at least once. I collect experiences, not items.
"I came from a very poor upbringing, so at first when I started making money, I didn’t really know what to do with it. I indulged in almost anything I could think of. Wasted my money in all different kinds of ways.
"Last year though, my mindset really shifted into a saving mentality. Since then, I’ve been focused on living comfortably, but still trying to hit certain savings goals each month. I now have nearly £80,000 in savings.
"Currently I’m saving up to buy each one of my parents a house. They’ve been divorced since I was young, and been living paycheck to paycheck for as long as I can remember. I want them both to live out their years in a peaceful environment. I don’t want them to have to pay rent anymore. They’ve both lived long hard lives and deserve to retire.
"I’ve also been working on a type of “OnlyFans workshop“ for girls like me who want to get into this industry, but don’t know where to start.
"It’s going to be a comprehensive step-by-step guide for girls who want to gain financial freedom through online adult content creation. I have developed a type of “algorithm” to make money on OnlyFans, and I will be teaching this algorithm to anyone who wishes to sign up to my workshop at the end of the year. I’m even going to be hosting content creation retreats in Bali early next year.
"These retreats are designed for girls who not only want to jumpstart their online sex worker career, but who would also like a little assistance in learning how to create top tier content that sells well on any platform.
"A lot of girls in this industry either don’t share their secrets at all, or charge an astronomically high price for the information they have. I feel like knowledge should be affordable, or free.
