A 'reckless' driver who caused the death of her passenger when she crashed her car after driving at 103mph while high on 'hippy crack' has been jailed. Nasrin Saleh, 26, was behind the wheel of her powerful VW Golf GTI when it crashed into a roundabout's perimeter wall, killing Luqman Mehboob, 28.
Police say Saleh was driving at 'grossly excessive speeds' around the outskirts of Liverpool at 4.45am on October 10, 2021. While driving, she inhaled 'large quantities' of nitrous oxide - a psychoactive substance that slows the brain's responses, also known as ‘hippy crack’.
The car then crashed into a wall next to a roundabout in Pilch Lane, Liverpool, causing the car to flip and burst into flames. Saleh pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving at Liverpool Crown Court.
