For many people, visiting a nail bar for a manicure is a great pick-me-up after a stressful week - but have you ever left your appointment feeling worse than when you went in?
That's the experience one woman on TikTok had after she took a photo of someone's perfectly manicured nails with her to her nail salon for inspiration, but was left with nails that looked as though they'd been drawn on with gel pens.
Ellery Krut, from Roswell, Georgia, USA - who posts under the username @ellerycrouton - shared a video in which she showed the picture she took with her, which displayed a woman's perfect almond-shaped nails with a transparent base and thin navy blue accents at the very tip.

The woman then laughed as she showed the camera the result she had ended up with - featuring uneven and wonky blue lines that were a completely different shade to the ones in her reference photo.
Ellery paid $50 (£33) for the manicure, and people in the video's comments couldn't believe she'd actually parted with cash for the manicure fail.
One person said: "Oh my god, please tell me you didn't pay for this."
While another added: "Oh no, girl, tell me you didn't pay."
The woman's video has over 2.5 million views, and other commenters were quick to let her know that the design she picked out was never going to work on her nails because they are a different shape from the ones in her reference picture.
Someone said: "That design won't work on short nails, but the nail technician should have told you that."
As someone else told her: "I literally cannot imagine a good outcome with your nail length, I'm sorry bestie."
While a third pointed out: "I'm so sorry this happened, but you should've known it would be bad because the shape in the picture is so different."
But others simply revelled in the hilarity of Ellery's nail blunder, as they compared her disastrous artwork to something a child might draw with Crayola gel pens.
One person joked: "Very Crayola."
And another said: "Why are so many people talking about the length when it looks like someone aged 12 did this with a gel pen? Come on now."
